"Game One” transforms a game-used basketball sourced from the Fashion Institute of Technology into a sculptural wearable object.
Completed on June 4, 2026, following the New York Knicks' Game 1 victory in the 2026 NBA Finals, the piece captures a specific moment in basketball culture while exploring the intersection of sport, design, and material transformation.
Originally conceived as an experiment, the object evolved through multiple rounds of prototyping and construction. The final form preserves the visual language of the basketball while introducing a new function as a wearable mini backpack/crossbody.
